Covid-19

About E-visits

If you're experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, and shortness of breath) or other upper respiratory conditions, you have the option to conduct an E-visit with a Kelsey-Seybold Clinic provider. You'll receive medical advice and a care plan in one hour or less without having to leave home! Our providers can immediately screen for COVID-19 and, if needed, direct you to the appropriate level of care or provide a care plan, including sending prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice.

Due to the high volume of requests for COVID-19 and respiratory symptom screenings, the response time for COVID-19 related E-visits by our healthcare providers is taking longer than usual. We ask for your patience during this time. Please know we are responding to every patient who has submitted an E-visit in the order in which requests are received.

What is an E-visit?
An E-visit is a confidential electronic exchange between you and a Kelsey-Seybold healthcare provider. You can start an E-visit by logging into your MyKelseyOnline (MKO) account or App and select "Appointments/Start an E-visit". Answer a series of questions about your current symptoms and receive a diagnosis or care plan in an hour or less.

Who can have an E-visit to screen for COVID-19?
E-visits for upper respiratory symptoms are currently for any Kelsey-Seybold patient who has a MyKelseyOnline account. You can start an E-visit either on mykelseyonline.com or on the MyChart/MyKelsey app from your phone or tablet.

Not enrolled in MyKelseyOnline? We can enroll you immediately – call 713-442-6565 or 713-442-0000 to set up your account. You can learn more at mykelseyonline.com.

What symptoms can an E-visit treat?
If you are having any upper respiratory symptoms such as a cough, fever, or shortness of breath, you can have an E-visit and receive a care plan in an hour or less.

What if I don't have COVID-19?
For the safety of our patients, clinical staff, and providers, we are asking any patient who is experiencing upper respiratory symptoms to please conduct an E-visit for your care.  This will help us protect you, other patients, and caregivers from additional exposure. You also have the option of speaking with a trained clinician via phone by calling our 24/7 Contact Center at 713.442.0000.

What happens if I need to be tested for COVID-19?
We are screening all patients who present upper respiratory symptoms to help determine if further testing is needed. If our trained providers determine further testing is needed, we will work directly with you and the Public Health Department to coordinate your care.

How much does an E-visit cost?

If you are not in a Kelsey health plan there is a $25 charge at the time of service. We will file with your claim with your insurance provider, patient is responsible for any remaining balance after your insurance plan processes the claim.

Note: This cost does not include COVID-19 testing, should further testing be required.

Can I have an E-visit for other conditions not related to upper respiratory symptoms?
For KelseyCare and KelseyCare Advantage Health Plan Members:

As a KelseyCare health plan member, you have access to E-visits and Video Visits, which are conducted by a Kelsey-Seybold Clinic provider who has access to your medical record. Adult E-visits can treat 20 acute conditions, and Video Visits can treat more than 50 conditions. To learn more about your Virtual Health care options, please visit kelsey-seyboldvirtualhealth.com

For Patients Not Enrolled in a KelseyCare Health Plan:

Currently, E-visits are only available for upper respiratory symptoms to help expedite care for our patients and minimize the additional risk of exposure to other patients, employees, and yourself at our Clinic locations. Kelsey-Seybold is continuing to assess additional Virtual Health options for our patients who are not enrolled in a Kelsey Health Plan.

If you are not in a Kelsey health plan, the cost of the E-visit is $25 at the time of service. We will file with your insurance and either provide a refund or bill you for any additional amount due, based on your coverage.

All patients are welcome to call our 24/7 Contact Center at 713-442-0000 if you are experiencing upper respiratory symptoms or have concerns about exposure to COVID-19.  Our trained nursing and Virtual Health teams will be able to screen your conditions and provide you with care support and guidance.
